From Aviation to Zero Waste: Jesus College inspires better future with launch of Sustainability A-Z

We have launched a Sustainability A-Z as part of our vision to be “recognised globally as a leading academic institution where sustainability is intrinsic through engagement, collaboration and innovation”.

The A-Z contains practical advice for people at any stage of their sustainability journey. Covering topics as wide-ranging as shopping, investment, food, periods and volunteering, it is designed to appeal to everyone and to be sharable beyond the immediate College community. Within the College, tips to inspire action will be posted in key locations and promoted on social media channels.

Domestic Bursar, Stuart Websdale, said: “While the College has done a lot to reduce its environmental impact with the launch of a Sustainability Strategy, Responsible Investment Policy, Transport Strategy and changes to its buildings, if we want to make further progress we also need to look at our behaviours.

"This is something we all need to contribute to whenever we can. The A-Z makes it easy to take that first step towards change.”

College Master, Sonita Alleyne, said: “Jesus College is constantly leading the way with its environment and sustainability ambitions and actions. I’m delighted that we are publishing a Sustainability A-Z that can be shared outside the College as well as used by our community, and I hope that people find it inspiring and useful.”
