John Hughes Arts Festival 2018
The 2018 Festival will bring together a variety of artists, thinkers and individuals to celebrate the spirit of collaboration championed by Jesus College's late and much-loved Dean of Chapel, the Rev'd Dr John Hughes.
The student-run John Hughes Arts Festival was founded in 2014 in memory of John and this year, will begin at 3pm on Friday 2 February with the launch of the book The God We Proclaim: Sermons on the Apostles’ Creed, edited by John and Andrew Davison. Profits from the book will go towards a project commissioning the sculpture of 14 Stations of the Cross in stone in John's memory for Little St Mary's Church in Cambridge.
2018's festival will feature a variety of events including a sculpture tour, comedy smoker, a life drawing class, an electronic soundmaking workshop in the Chapel and more. The annual Open Hang Gallery will feature submissions from artists, students, Fellows and staff.
