Festal Eucharist for the Feast of Candlemas
Festal Eucharist for the Feast of the Presentation of Christ in the Temple (Candlemas), sung by the Chapel Choir.
Join us for a service of Holy Communion led by the Dean, with readings, prayers and an address, and music from the College Choir to celebrate the Feast of Candlemas.
Candlemas recalls the occasion when Jesus' parents brought him to the temple in Jerusalem for dedication, and the prophets Simeon and Anna receive him with joy as the light of the world. This Feast draws the church's seasons of Christmas and Epiphany to a close, and celebrates that light which begins to pierce to gloom of winter as a symbol of divine and human hope.
For more information about this term's services and music, please see the Chapel Termcard and Music List.
Chapel services are open to College members, staff, their guests, and members of the public.
