A taste of student life at Cambridge

Over 250 students from all over the UK visited us during our new subject taster days.

Timed to coincide with half term, we held four free taster days aimed at year 12 students. As well as attending taster sessions in two different subject areas, visiting students had the opportunity to quiz current Jesus College undergraduates on university life. Attendees also enjoyed a tour of the College, free lunch, and admissions talks from the Admissions Tutors.

An attendee from St Marylebone School, one of the College’s link schools, commented that the taster days “provided a much better format for students to understand what it would be like to study at Cambridge (as opposed to an open day).”

Christopher Burlinson, Admissions Tutor for Recruitment, said: "Our Taster Days allow year 12 students an insight into what it's like to study at the University of Cambridge and a chance to explore different subjects, including ones that they might not have considered before.”

The College will be running the taster days next year and hopes to welcome even more students. Find out more about visiting and open days
