Intellectual Forum International Workshop Series on Critical Care Medicine, 2023

From September 2023, the Intellectual Forum will be running an International Workshop Series on Critical Care Medicine with consultants from across the UK leading workshops for colleagues around the world.

The series schedule is as follows:

  1. 10-11am BST, 4 September: Dr Virginia Newcombe on "Traumatic Brain Injury including the ICP algorithm and imaging".
  2. 10-11am BST,15 September: Dr Basil Matta on "Monitoring the Brain in the ICU – optimising sedation and ensuring oxygenation".
  3. 10-11am BST, 18 September: Dr Andrew Klein on "Iron deficiency and anaemia".
  4. 10-11am BST, 25 September: Dr Andrew Conway Morris on "Pneumonia in ICU – diagnosis, management and the future".
  5. 10-11am BST, 17 October: Dr Andrew Conway Morris on "Antimicrobial resistance in the ICU – global problem, local solutions?"
  6. 10-11am GMT, 31 October: Dr Razeen Mahroof on "Haemodynamic monitoring on ICU". 
  7. 10-11am GMT, 10 November: Dr Monica Trivedi on "Identification and evaluation of critically ill patients (including critical care outreach and rapid response teams)".
  8. 10-11am GMT, 14 November: Dr Iain Goodhart on "Sepsis". 
  9. 10-11am GMT, 20 November: Dr Aoife Quinn on "Traumatic Brain Injury in the polytrauma patient and how we manage head injuries in conjunction with other competing interests".
  10. 10-11am GMT, 6 December: Dr Ronan O’Leary on “Critical Care: Thinking at Scale”.
  11. 10-11am GMT, 13 December: Dr Razeen Mahroof on "PEEP and how to use it". 
  12. 10-11am GMT, 22 December: Dr Kyriaki Apostolidou on "Acute liver injury and acute liver failure in critically ill patients".
