Dr Andrew Parmley (1983) becomes Lord Mayor of the City of London

Congratulations to Dr Andrew Parmley (1983) who became Lord Mayor of the City of London today.

Dr Parmley was elected Alderman of Vintry Ward in 2001 and is a member of eight City Livery companies including the Musicians. He is heavily involved in education and music and has served as Chairman of both the City of London School for Girls and the Guildhall School of Music & Drama. Dr Parmley is currently the Principal of The Harrodian School in West London.

Dr Parmley follows in the footsteps of Sir Peter Gadsden (1949), Sir Alan Traill (1953) and Sir David Wootton (1969) as our fourth post-war Lord Mayor, a record we think amongst the Cambridge colleges.
