Simon Collerton

Simon was an intern at the Intellectual Forum in 2021.

His final year dissertation was a critique of the global commons in international law from a Third World perspective. He argued that, in such supposedly communal areas, Third World states are often excluded from engaging in exploration and legislation, as well as the exploitation of resources.

As part of the Intellectual Forum, Simon worked with Dr Sarah Steele, examining the ethical and legal implications of research and data gathering in relation to online LGBTQ+ sex work.

Simon has a particular interest in public international and human rights law.

Simon will start studying for a specialist LLM in public international law at UCL in September. He hopes to work in international human rights law in the NGO or Charity sector in the future.
