Sebastian Andres obtained his PhD in Mathematics at TU Berlin in 2009 under the supervision of Jean-Dominique Deuschel and Max von Renesse.

Afterwards he spent two years as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver and five years as 'Akademischer Rat' at the University of Bonn.

In September 2016 he joined the Department of Pure Mathematics and Mathematical Statistics at the University of Cambridge in affiliation with the Cambridge Centre for Analysis.
