Dr Jessica Berenbeim
Jessica Berenbeim is a University Associate Professor at the Faculty of English and a Fellow of Jesus College.
Academic interests
Jessica's academic interest include:
- The aesthetics and materiality of writing
- Museum studies, archives, and archival theory
- Philosophy of history
- Inscriptions
- Medieval art and architecture
- Classical reception studies
- History of the book
- Medieval cultural history.
Jessica teaches for the medieval literature papers in Part I and Part II, and on visual and material culture more broadly in Part II.
Her teaching and supervision interests include: interdisciplinary medieval studies; material texts; the intersections of literary and visual culture; history and theory of museums, libraries, and archives.

Biography
Jessica was a Junior Research Fellow at Magdalen College, Oxford, and held the Frances Yates Long-Term Research Fellowship in Cultural and Intellectual History at the Warburg Institute. She has also held fellowships at or collaborated with a number of cultural institutions, including the British Library, the British Museum, and the National Archives.
