Dr Tessa Sinnige

Postdoctoral Associate
Postdoctoral Research Associate

Tessa Sinnige is a Postdoctoral Fellow at Jesus College researching protein folding, misfolding, and aggregation.

Academic interests

My main interest is in protein folding, misfolding, and aggregation. Using the nematode C. elegans as a model organism, I study how protein aggregation is linked to toxicity and neurodegeneration.

Furthermore, I am interested in the application of biophysical techniques to obtain high resolution structural information of misfolded protein species in vivo.

Degrees obtained

  • BSc in Life Science and Technology, Leiden University and Technical University Delft, 2008.
  • MSc in Biomolecular Sciences, Utrecht University, 2010.
  • PhD in Chemistry, Utrecht University, 2014.

Awards and prizes

  • EMBO long-term fellowship, 2015.
  • NWO Rubicon fellowship, 2015.

Other interests

Jazz, running, travelling.
