Joe Smallman

Joe was an intern at the Intellectual Forum in 2019.

He is interested in the sometimes fraught intersection between plural identities and shared institutions of governance, whether that be on the local or supranational level.



At the Intellectual Forum, Joe used data from Preston and Manchester, among others, to investigate the relationship between different types of devolution and outcomes for local communities on a range of metrics including health and educational inequalities.
