Since 1872, the Varsity Match has marked the pinnacle of amateur rugby, and the ultimate challenge between ancient rivals Cambridge and Oxford universities.
Cambridge and Oxford University Rugby Clubs are excited to announce that they now plan to hold the Varsity Matches on 4 July 2021 at the Mattioli Woods Welford Road Stadium in Leicester.
The switch to Leicester’s iconic stadium, which is equidistant between the two universities, is seen as the best solution in the circumstances given likely restrictions on numbers.
