Stephen Twigg in conversation with Pauline Rose: how has the UK's aid commitment advanced the Sustainable Development Goals?
MP and former Chair of the International Development Select Committee Stephen Twigg will be at the Intellectual Forum on Thursday 23rd January in conversation with Pauline Rose to talk about how the UK's cross-pary commitment to international development promoted progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals.
Stephen Twigg served as the Labour and Co-operative Member of Parliament for Liverpool West Derby from 2010-2019. From June 2015, he served as the Chair of the International Development Select Committee for 4 and a half years. The purpose of this committee is to scrutinise the work and spending of the Department for International Development.
Stephen also served as the Labour MP for Enfield Southgate for 8 years and was Government Minister for 4 years between 2001-2005. He also served as Shadow Education Secretary, Deputy Leader of the House of Commons, and as an Education Minister.
Pauline Rose is a Professor of International Education and Director of the Research for Equitable Access and Learning (REAL) Centre in the Faculty of Education, University of Cambridge.
