Choral Evensong to conclude the John Hughes Arts Festival sung by the College Choir, featuring an address by The Rev'd Canon Professor Sarah Foot on The Glorious Virgin Saint Radegund.

The John Hughes Arts Festival is Jesus College's annual student-run multi-disciplinary arts weekend, held in memory of the beloved late Date of Chapel, The Rev'd Dr John Hughes.

The Rev'd Canon Professor Sarah Foot, Regius Professor of Ecclesiastical History in the University of Oxford and Canon of Christ Church Cathedral, will deliver the next in this term's address series, 'Prophets of Liberation', by exploring the life and legacy of the early medieval abbess St Radegund, one of Jesus College's patrons.

During the service, the Choir will sing part of a new work by David Bednall, a setting of 'Vexilla Regis', a hymn penned by Radegund's chaplain, Venantius Fortunatus. Further music by Charles Villiers Stanford, George Dyson and others is sung by the College Choir. Drinks are served after the service, before Formal Hall.

For more information about this term's address series and other services this term, please see the Chapel Termcard and Music List.

All Chapel services are open to College members and staff, their guests, and members of the public. For those who cannot attend, Sunday Evensong is usually live-streamed and available to watch on the Chapel Facebook Page.
