Our lives are more mediated by technology than at any other time in human history. These interactions with technology seem so every day that they run the risk of seeming almost invisible to us. In this event, we will be discussing the impact of online technology in our everyday habits and behaviours with a focus on how tech influences us at the level of our work, learning, and our personal lives.

For this event, which was originally scheduled as part of the Cambridge Science Festival 2020, we welcome Tyler Shores (Faculty of Education, Intellectual Forum), Anu Hautalampi (Head of Social Media, University of Cambridge), Dex Torricke-Barton (former speechwriter for Sheryl Sandberg, Mark Zuckerberg, Elon Musk and others), and Dr David Stillwell (Lecturer in Big Data Analytics and Quantitative Social Science at the Cambridge Judge Business School) to look at current and near-present mainstream technology with an eye towards better understanding how we think and talk about data, communication, and what lies ahead in the near future.

This event will also be Livestreamed, a link to the YouTube Livestream will follow soon.
