2023 marks the 33rd year of the Alumni Festival and sees the majority of lectures, tours and exhibitions return to in-person.

We are delighted that two of our College Fellows, Professors Clare Chambers and Stuart Clarke, feature in this year's programme.

On Friday 22 September, Professor Chamber's talk 'Defending the unmodified body' argues that social and institutional pressure to modify ourselves sends a powerful message: you are not good enough; and later that day Director of Music Benjamin Sheen will conduct 'Come and Sing' - a scratch-choir workshop followed by a sing-through to an audience, in King's College Chapel. Booking for the workshop is now closed but you can catch the performance at 9.30-10.30pm.

On Saturday 23 September, Professor Clarke's talk 'Molecular layers, thin films and coatings: an in-depth look at the superficial' will highlight the innovative physical chemistry employed to achieve a wide variety of useful behaviour such as two-colour cars, keeping clean windows, magnetic pattern formation, and triggered release of perfumes.
