The 2019 Lisa Jardine Lecture: Baroness Helena Kennedy QC
Baroness Helena Kennedy QC will be joining us on Tuesday 26 February to give the 2019 Lisa Jardine Memorial Lecture: The Retreat from Rules, Regulations and an International Order.
One of Britain’s most distinguished lawyers, Helena Kennedy has spent her professional life giving voice to those who have least power within the system, championing civil liberties and promoting human rights.
She has used many public platforms – including the House of Lords– to argue with passion, wit and humanity for social justice. She has also written and broadcast on a wide range of issues, from medical negligence to terrorism to the rights of women and children.
Helena Kennedy’s lecture is part of a series in memory of Lisa Jardine (1944-2015). Lisa made a huge contribution across a wide area as a Professor of Renaissance Studies, author, broadcaster, Chair of the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Agency and more.
This event will be livestreamed on the College YouTube channel.
