China-UK Global Issues Dialogue Centre launches first event

The China-UK Global Issues Dialogue Centre will launch its first high-level dialogue on the topic of the 'International Digital Economy and Governance in the New Globalized World'.

Run in partnership with Tsinghua University’s School of Social Sciences and Global Learning, this will take place in Beijing on 29 - 30 April 2019.

The Dialogue will focus on defining the emerging challenges facing existing systems of global governance that were largely shaped by the needs of an earlier era. The challenges include the demands created by new technologies, especially the exponential growth of digital networks, geo-political shifts, and the emergence of China a major world player and her integration into the global governance system.

Having defined the key issues, we will begin to explore alternatives responses and possible innovations in the system of global governance.
