Students win Oxford vs Cambridge match

Congratulations to our athletes for beating Jesus College Oxford 6-3 in a friendly Varsity match last Saturday (17 November).

Our students won the women's football, mixed hockey, mixed netball, mixed lacrosse, badminton and tennis competitions. Their Oxford rivals won men's football, men's rugby and squash.

After the matches, the Cambridge students stayed in Oxford for a joint College evening out.

Sorcha Keenan (2017), JCSU Vice President, said: "The weekend was an outstanding success! Everyone had a great time and we were delighted to have victory against Jesus Oxford.

"We started the day off with a comprehensive victory in the women's football, winning 9-0 with captains Beatrice Wood (2017) and Hannah Sanderson (2017) leading the team. After a series of wins and losses, we were very happy to finish the day off with a last minute goal in the mixed hockey match, securing our victory.

"We joined Jesus Oxford for an evening of entertainment which was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone. We look forward to welcoming Oxford for the return fixture next year."
