Student wins Young Composer title

Joanna Ward (2016) has won a coveted place on National Youth Choirs Great Britain's new Young Composer Scheme.

Joanna is one of four musicians selected to take part in the new year-long programme. She will receive dedicated mentoring and training, and have several performance and recording opportunities.

Joanna said: "I'm so excited for the coming year on the NYCGB Composer Scheme, and feel honoured to have been selected alongside three other composers who are writing really fantastic, diverse music.

"I am sure that the opportunities and support that the scheme offers will help me develop my writing in new and interesting ways, and I'm really looking forward to working with the wonderful NMC Recordings for the second time. I'm sure that this will open up more opportunities for me in the future."
