Songwriter returns to Cambridge

Maz O'Connor (2009) is heading back to Cambridge on 11 June to play the Cambridge Junction in the latest date of her summer tour.

An English graduate of Jesus College, Maz is known for her songwriting skill, with a considered and perceptive lyricism exploring complex relationships between people and their surroundings. She possesses the rare ability to create a whole world in a single song. Q Magazine has written: "Maz O'Connor's ace, apart from her remarkable songwriting talent, is her captivating voice."

Maz's most recent album The Longing Kind (2016) was hailed by press and pundits alike and established her firmly in the roots scene as a force to be reckoned with. Maz has recently begun to explore a more contemporary soundscape.  Collaborations with producers from the world of electronic pop music have lead to an exploration of shadowy, Scandinavian-esque, sonic spaces that accentuate simplicity and set a scene for new repertoire.

Writing about the tour on her website, Maz says: "It’s been a while since I toured ... I’ve missed playing live and getting around the country sharing the music with you guys. So I’m already looking forward to this. If you’ve got anything in particular you’d like to hear, drop me a message on Facebook or Twitter and I’ll try my best to fit it in for you."

Tickets for the concert are on sale direct from the Cambridge Junction at £14 each, with the show starting at 8pm. Getting to The Junction is easy via bicycle or the 1, 3 or 7 bus. Car parking is also available right next to the venue.
