Professor Madeleine Arnot appointed Commonwealth Scholarship Commissioner
College Emeritus Fellow Madeleine Arnot has been appointed as one of the Commissioners for the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission by the Rt Hon Penny Mordaunt MP, Secretary of State for International Development.
Professor Arnot said: "My research in Africa and South Asia on schooling and poverty, my experience as supervisor of many outstanding graduates from Commonwealth countries, and my time as Graduate Tutor have helped me to recognise the vital contribution that scholarships make. So I am delighted to have been appointed as Commonwealth Scholarship Commissioner and I am looking forward to helping achieve the Commission's mission, particularly on pro-poor development."
Professor Arnot is Emeritus Professor of Sociology of Education at the University of Cambridge and a Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences.
