Machine superintelligence and humanity

Experts debated machine superintelligence and humanity at the latest Rustat Conference at Jesus College on 2nd June.

Topics included:

From artificial intelligence to superintelligence
Creativity and imagination in humans and machines
Ethics, regulation and governance
Anthropology and theology in an era of AGI.

The full day conference was attended by business, political and academic experts. These included Dr Demis Hassabis, CEO and co-founder of DeepMind (Google); Dr Jaan Tallinn, co-founder of Skype and of the Centre for the Study of Existential Risk; Dr Hermann Hauser, co-founder of Amadeus Capital Partners; and representatives from universities including Sussex, Goldsmiths, Oxford and Cambridge.
