John Hughes Boat Naming Ceremony

Today a naming ceremony was held for the club's new Empacher IV, the "John Hughes". John was Dean of Chapel in Jesus, and was there for everyone in College with any troubles they might have. He has been missed from the college community since his tragic death in Summer 2014, and today the new boat has been named in his memory.

The christening was performed by Professor Michael Waring, Senior Treasurer of the Jesus College Boat Club Trust, and the ceremony was attended by several members of the Trust, to whom we are thankful that the purchase of the boat is made possible.
