Jesuan awarded Diana Award

Sulaiman Iqbal (2018) is the founder of Team UPside, a youth-led community organisation which works to widen access to higher education for less-advantaged students.

Established in memory of Diana, Princess of Wales, The Diana Award is the most prestigious accolade a young person aged 9-25 years can receive for their social action or humanitarian work. Its recipients represent some of the most inspirational young people from across the UK and around the world. Sulaiman established the Team UPside, a youth-led community organisation based in Ealing, West London, whilst reading History at Jesus. 

Last year we spoke to Sulaiman about what he sees as the biggest barriers to higher education, and how Team UPside has leveraged social media to expand their initiatives during the pandemic.
