Intellectual Forum International Workshop Series on Anorectal Surgery, 2022-2023
Beginning in December 2022, the Intellectual Forum ran a 12 week International Workshop Series on Anorectal Surgery, bringing together experts from across the UK.
The series, designed for specialists in the field, was as follows:
- December 8, 10am-11am: Mr Michael Powar, Sacral Neuromodulation for Faecal Incontinence (including operative tips and tricks)
- December 16, 10am-11am: Professor Alex Mirnezami, Management of locally advanced and recurrent rectal cancer: from nihilism to optimism and a new paradigm
- December 20, 10am-11am: Mr Ian Lindsey, Pelvic floor disorders
- January 9, 1-2pm: Professor Ailsa Hart, Perianal Crohn's disease
- January 17, 10-11am: Mr Hilko Swank, Diverticulitis and large bowel obstruction
- February 6, 10am-11am: Mr Kapil Sahnan, Diagnosis and treatment of complex anal fistula
- February 16, 10-11am: Mr Janindra Warusavitarne, Ulcerative colitis
- February 21, 10-11am: Mr Ian Lindsey, Proctology: fissure, hemorrhoid, pilonidal disease
- February 27, 11-12noon: Professor Simon Buczacki, Colon cancer, lymph nodes and complete mesocolic excision
- March 16, 12-1pm: Miss Sarah Hassan, Early rectal cancer
- March 22, 10-11am: Dr Rebecca Palmer, Efficient colonoscopy technique and approach to polpypectomy
- March 24, 11-12noon: Mr Alexander Seager, Artificial Intelligence in Colonoscopy
