Global success: over 2,000 students from 170 countries enrol in Jesus College edX courses

Jesus College’s edX courses have reached over 2,000 students across 170 countries and six continents following their launch in September 2021.

Managing conflict and polarisation in the workplace and beyond, the College’s first course, uses expertise from business, behavioural science, and politics to explore individuals’ ‘groupish’ instincts, while providing skills to bridge divides.

“Polarisation is an ominous and growing challenge, in the UK and beyond,” Ali Goldsworthy, Intellectual Forum Senior Research Associate and co-author of the course, said. "We’re so glad that we have been able to reach learners around the world. The course leaves them empowered to identify and respond to polarisation at work and beyond."

The second course, Preventing and Responding to Sexual Harassment and Violence, provides guidance on how to become an active bystander and address sexual harassment and violence – in the workplace, at home, and in wider social relations.

Dr Sarah Steele, the author of the course, said, “It’s fantastic to see so many people accessing our course – it will have equipped learners with the tools to respond when they see poor behaviour, which we know takes place in many different settings around the world.”

The courses are open for enrolment on the edX website.
