Embracing fashion sustainability with Riccardo Bellini

Since joining Chloé in 2018, Riccardo Bellini has focused on re-energising the brand with an emphasis on purpose and sustainability.

Building on Chloé’s deep 70+ year tradition of ready-to-wear fashions with an eye to gender equality, Riccardo discussed his work toward truly embracing sustainability at the core of the brand, and the role of leadership to drive a regenerative business transformation.

Jesus College Fellow and Sinyi Professor of Chinese Management at Cambridge Judge Business School Christopher Marquis moderated a Q&A with Riccardo following the talk.

About the speaker

Riccardo Bellini is the President CEO of Chloé. He spent two decades in the Prestige Beauty and Fashion industry before joining Chloé as President and CEO in 2020.

A passionate pioneer of more responsible and purposeful fashion, Riccardo has set an ambitious plan to reassert Chloé's brand identity and desirability, while shifting the company towards a purpose-driven business model centred on women's empowerment and on environmental sustainability.

In committing to this vision, Riccardo has hired Gabriela Hearst as Creative Director of Chloé. He rolled out a transformative social and environmental agenda, has joined the Fashion Pact, has signed the Women’s Empowerment Principles developed by the United Nations, and has led the company to obtain B-Corp certification – the first luxury fashion house to achieve this milestone.

Before Chloé, Riccardo held several leadership positions at Procter & Gamble Prestige and in the Only The Brave Group, and recently as CEO of Maison Margiela.
