Cambridge University Alumni Festival kicks off

Don’t forget to check out the programme for this year’s Cambridge University Alumni Festival. There are still spaces available for many of the online lectures.

Why not join Dr Nicholas Guyatt, Reader in North American History in the Faculty of History and a Fellow of Jesus College, for his talk on Britons and Americans at Dartmoor Prison; hear Professor Peter Frankopan (1990) in conversation with Sujit Sivasundaram as they discuss Peter’s fresh account of the world's history in the late eighteenth and early-nineteenth centuries; or join Dr Christopher Markou (2014) and his colleagues to hear how COVID-19 has brought more flexible working, particularly homeworking, for many.

Many of the already sold out lectures will be made available to alumni afterwards including a talk from Dr Megan Davies Wykes (2006) who will explain the science behind sash windows and how to use them effectively; and an interesting discussion between Ore Ogunbiyi  (2015) and some of her contemporaries as they discuss their lives as young Black women at Cambridge University.
