Anna Harvey wins first prize at Paris Opera Competition
Mezzo-soprano and former member of Jesus College Choir Anna Harvey has won first prize in the 7th edition of the Paris Opera Competition.
We’re delighted that Anna, who was a choral scholar 2006-2008 and then Chapel and Choir Administrator 2010-2011, has won the Prix Pierre Verne at this prestigious international event. The competition, which took place this year at Paris Opera’s Palais Garnier, exists to uncover and promote the opera stars of tomorrow. One of nine finalists, Anna sang her favourite roles in the final: Sesto (La Clemenza di Tito), Hänsel (Hänsel and Gretel), and Octavian (Der Rosenkavalier).
Anna is a member of the solo ensemble at Deutsche Oper am Rhein, and returned this season to Welsh National Opera, where she was previously an Associate Artist.
