I’m from Cambridgeshire and about to start my third year reading History. This year I’m looking forward to focusing on early modern material culture. At the moment I am researching for my dissertation on regional identity in Greek folk dress. I have also kept busy over the summer by volunteering at my local museum.
Although the coronavirus has been quite disruptive to my first two years, I have loved all my time at Jesus so far! When I am not reading, I enjoy taking part in a range of extra-curricular activities. I am currently the JCSU Environmental and Ethical Affairs Officer and this role has given me a great opportunity to work with Fellows, staff, and students. I’m a ‘JAmbassador’ which has recently involved delivering a history taster session for year 12 students. In my spare time I also like rowing with JCBC, attending events at the Union, and cooking with friends.
I was lucky enough to work on the Telephone Campaign last year and I am really looking forward to speaking with alumni again. It was especially interesting to hear about their time at Jesus, as well as their life post-Cambridge. I’m glad to play a part in raising funds that will help make Jesus College even better.
